Kandinsky builds his manner on the ability of human psychic to find images everywhere, just like we sometimes see things in a dim room when we are tired, scared or our perception is otherwise triggered to distort the visual signal. The same effect is applied to the secondary plane. What is it on the left: a fence, a row of bushes or something else you haven’t yet thought about? Is there a river behind it? What looms in the background? Every viewer will make a different guess. And that’s exactly why the painting is so unsophisticatedly absorbing and intriguingly inconclusive.
